Closing Ceremony of KNB Intensive Program 2021/2022

On May 13th 2022, INCULS UGM held the Closing Ceremony of the KNB Intensive Program 2021. Students, staff, tutors, and lecturers alike attended the joyous occasion in the auditorium of Soegondo building, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya UGM. The ceremony was carried by two MCs, one being the student of the advanced class and the other being one of the tutors of the KNB program.

To open the ceremony, the Coordinator of INCULS delivered a brief report of the KNB program. From their arrival to their TIFL test, the students have made considerable progress in their Bahasa Indonesia studies. The event was followed by representatives of each classes delivering personal speeches regarding their unique learning and cultural experiences here in Indonesia. read more

Warm greetings from INCULS!

We are pleased to inform you that INCULS, along with the Faculty of Cultural Sciences UGM, is launching a virtual office for those who wish to engage in consultation sessions regarding programs, classes, schedules, or other academic matters. Our virtual office opens every Monday, 10:00-12:00 (GMT+7) via Zoom meeting.

The procedure for a virtual office session is as follows:

  1. Join the Zoom meeting and change your display name.
  2. Wait for the host’s acceptance in the waiting room.
  3. Join the breakout room.
  4. Consult your needs.
  5. Leave the Zoom meeting.

    Workshop Lokakarya Penyusunan Peta Materi Buku Ajar 2022

    Last week, INCULS along with various BIPA professionals converged in the Workshop of Textbook Mapping Preparation (Lokakarya Penyusunan Peta Materi Buku Ajar). The three-day workshop was held at the Prime Plaza Hotel from the 25th to the 27th of March 2022. Emphasizing on the need for a new, updated version of textbooks belonging exclusively to INCULS, the workshop was met with active enthusiasm from staffs and academics that were specially invited.

    Dr. Wira Kurniawati, S.S., M.A., current Coordinator of INCULS, officiated the start of the workshop with a comprehensive briefing regarding the new direction that INCULS wanted to take with the upcoming textbooks. Other opening remarks were uttered by Prof. Dr. Wening Udasmoro, S.S., M.Hum., DEA as Chairperson of Language Center FIB UGM and Drs. Suharsono, M.Hum, as the reviewer of B1 & B2 books. read more

    Registration for the Intensive/Private Program Indonesian Language Class is now open! Customize your Indonesian Language learning experience with INCULS UGM’s Intensive/Private Program. This is a tailor-made program suited to the student’s own arrangement, so you can adjust the program according to your needs and availability. Register yourself through admission.ugm.ac.id/registration/ anytime as the registration is open all year long without deadlines.

    Registration for INCULS Regular Program – Odd Semester 2022/2023

    Registration for the Regular Program Indonesian Language Class is now open! This program is a 15-17 weeks (1 semester) program which will commence from August to December 2022. Register yourself through admission.ugm.ac.id/registration before May 17th, and pay close attention to the registration timeline as to not miss any deadlines.

    As for the Regular Program, INCULS UGM offers offline classes. Students are welcomed to visit Indonesia and attend the classes in UGM.

    KNB Program Coordination Meeting

    In order to prepare KNB program learning in the even semester this year 2022, INCULS held virtual meetings with teaching staffs, students, and tutors. The meetings were held separately, each on Friday, January 28th at 13.00 WIB for teachers; Friday, February 4th at 20.00 WIB for students; and Thursday, February 8th at 15.00 WIB for tutors. Those meetings emphasized several matters including socializing UGM hybrid learning plan (60% of online and 40% of offline), reminding the goal of the program and motivating students to be more eagerly learning Indonesian language so they are viable to study and adapt at UGM, and to seek for solutions regarding the study evaluation of the previous semester. read more

    Units Coordination in Faculty of Cultural Science

    On Monday (10/1/202) the Faculty of Cultural Sciences UGM conducted a coordination meeting among its units. The meeting has been attended by the Dean; Deputy Dean of Academic and Student Affairs; Deputy Dean of Research, Community Service, and Cooperation; Deputy Dean of Finances, Assets, and Human Resources; chiefs and coordinators of units and staffs of Faculty of Cultural Sciences. This meeting, as the dean wishes for, aims to get the chiefs and coordinators to cooperate and improve the service quality in the faculty. read more

    Overview of INCULS Odd Semester of 2021/2022 Programs

    INCULS are welcoming the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. During this semester, INCULS held miscellaneous language courses as part of the collaborative partnership and customary biannual programs. In this semester there are three Private/Intensive Programs and one Regular Program started from August 2021. Let’s find out more about this semester INCULS’ programs through this short overview.

    Online Intensive/Private Program for Kokushikan University students

    This program had already been started since August 11th and expected to finish on September 9th 2021. This course was given to Kokushikan University students who are studying Asian culture and economy to provide knowledge about Indonesian language and culture in general. Eleven students enthusiastically participated in the program which consisted of language classes, special lectures, and tutorials with UGM students. read more
