INCULS are welcoming the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. During this semester, INCULS held miscellaneous language courses as part of the collaborative partnership and customary biannual programs. In this semester there are three Private/Intensive Programs and one Regular Program started from August 2021. Let’s find out more about this semester INCULS’ programs through this short overview.

Online Intensive/Private Program for Kokushikan University students

This program had already been started since August 11^th and expected to finish on September 9^th 2021. This course was given to Kokushikan University students who are studying Asian culture and economy to provide knowledge about Indonesian language and culture in general. Eleven students enthusiastically participated in the program which consisted of language classes, special lectures, and tutorials with UGM students. read more

During the even semester of the academic year 2020/2021, INCULS had the opportunity to conduct an intensive Indonesian language course for international students enrolled in the Masters and Postgraduate programs at Universitas Gadjah Mada under the Gadjah Mada International Fellowship scheme. This program was held on May 10 until August 6, 2021.

Prior to the beginning of the course, students were required to take a placement test as an instrument to evaluate their Indonesian language skills and determine their levels. There were 20 students from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nigeria, Uganda, Malawi, Rwanda, Ghana, Nepal, and Sudan participating in the online test. The results of the placement test divided them into three groups. One of the students had advanced proficiency level, two students were intermediate, and seventeen students were in the beginner class. The Intensive/Private Program is a tailor-made program between INCULS and the course participants. This program consists of language and culture classes and additional activities (tutorial/special lecture/workshop) based on the participants’ interests. At the end of the course, each student will receive a certificate of completion and transcript signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada.

REGULAR PROGRAM – INDONESIAN LANGUAGE ONLINE CLASSES

This program is a 15-17 week (1 semester) program. Students are grouped in the beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes based on the result of the placement tests. All subjects are taught by professors of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada. At the end of the course, each student will receive a certificate of completion and transcript signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada.

INCULS UGM kembali membuka pendaftaran kelas daring untuk semester depan. Masih dalam situasi pandemi Covid-19, Lembaga BIPA dari UGM ini membuka pintu bagi para penutur asing yang ingin belajar bahasa Indonesia (BIPA) secara daring. Pada semester II 2020/2021 pendaftaran kelas daring dibuka untuk program regular, intensif, dan privat.
Pendaftaran online program reguler bisa diakses melalui https://admission.ugm.ac.id/registration/ mulai tanggal 1 Desember 2020 – 3 Januari 2021. Seleksi administrasi akan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 8 Januari 2021. Seleksi akademik dan LO (Latter of Offer) diberikan pada tanggal 13 Januari 2021. Pembayaran akan dilakukan oleh mahasiswa pada tanggal 20 Januari 2021.
Setelah mahasiswa diterima oleh Universitas Gadjah Mada, mereka akan menerima LoA (Latter of Acceptance) pada tanggal 22 Januari 2021. Sebelum memulai program, mahasiswa akan melaksanakan tes penempatan (Placement Test) pada tanggal 26 Januari 2021 dan menerima pengumuman tanggal 29 Januari 2021. Perkuliahan akan dimulai dari tanggal 8 Februari 2021 sampai 11 Juni 2021.

Based on the information from Yogyakarta Immigration Office, foreign students who like to get Exit Permit Only (EPO) should organize it 10 days before their departure date. It is due to the immigration office needs 7 days to proceed the EPO. However, such urgent condition like students or family member got sick or passed away are not included to this regulation. Penutupan program untuk kelas Reguler Inculs semester 2 2012-2013 dan program Kemitraan Negara-Negara Berkembang (KNB) angkatan XVIII telah dilaksanakan pada hari Jumat 21 Juni 2013. Acara penutupan program tersebut dihadiri oleh Wakil Dekan Bidang Keuangan Aset dan Sumber Daya Manusia Fakultas Ilmu Budaya UGM-Drs. Heru Marwata, M.Hum., Ketua Inculs-Drs. Sunarso, M.Hum., Wakil Ketua Inculs Bidang Akademik-Rakhmat Soleh, S.S., M.Hum., Wakil Ketua Inculs Bidang Administrasi-Dra. Hindun, M.Hum., staff Inculs, dosen, para mahasiswa, tutor dan tamu undangan.

Pada kesempatan tersebut Inculs mewisuda sebanyak 88 mahasiswa dari 23 negara dengan rincian 12 mahasiswa dari kelas dasar, 22 mahasiswa dari kelas menengah, 49 mahasiswa dari kelas lanjut dan 5 mahasiswa dari kelas KNB. Mahasiswa yang berkesempatan untuk berpidato sebagai perwakilan kelas yaitu Momoko Miyazaki (kelas dasar-Jepang), Shelly Burns-Williamson (kelas menengah-Australia), Jessica Zwoboda (kelas lanjut-Jerman, sekaligus sebagai wakil untuk menerima pin kelulusan UGM), dan Verohanitra Andriambolanoro (kelas KNB). Acara dimeriahkan oleh penampilan dari mahasiswa, Shelly Burns-Williamson (Australia) dan Kirrily McKenzie (Australia) yang menampilkan medley berbagai macam lagu. Acara penutupan program juga dipandu oleh dua orang pembawa acara dari kelas lanjut, Eike Bahre (Jerman) dan Lars Venslauskas (Jerman).
